Can we treat tonsils without operation?

  

What are tonsils?         

Tonsils are our immunity organs. They are present as lymph nodes on both sides back of throat. Their primary function is to provide protection against bacterial and viral infections. Tonsils are also vulnerable to bacterial and viral attack and cause swelling on infection. Incase if we remove tonsils the person will become easily affected by bacterial and viral attack



What is Tonsillitis?     

Tonsillitis is a condition when tonsils are attacked by some bacteria or viruses. They cause severe infections leading to swelling called acute tonsillitis.

How can we identify tonsillitis?                

We can identify tonsillitis if there are swelling in throat, pain in throat, fever, coughing, running nose, chills, stomachaches, earaches, headache and stiffness in neck. This is mostly common among children. In children it leads to loss of appetite, increased irritability and weakness.

What are tests to identify tonsillitis?        

Some tests are carried out to identify the presence of infection of tonsils.

·         Throat swab test

·         Epstein bar virus antibodies test

·         Monospot test

What are the sources of tonsillitis? 

 There are many factors that can cause tonsillitis. It is occurred due to microorganisms. Most frequently if it is by virus then it can be spread by affected persons. Touching objects of affected persons is the most leading source of tonsillitis. Therefore its ratio is high among children. They play with affected ones and got virus from them.

·         Among viruses Rhinovirus, Hepatitis A, HIV and Epstein bar virus are involved. They may b spread by air, objects or by water.

·         While in case of bacteria streptococcus is most involved bacteria for tonsillitis.

·         Tonsillitis can also be transmitted genetically. If your elders have tonsillitis in their genes then it is likely to have greater chances of having infection.

How can we treat tonsillitis?           

We can take antibiotics to cure tonsillitis in case it is due to bacteria. But taking medicines can increase bacterial resistance against antibiotics and can also lead to stomach discomfort. There are some home remedies that may be helpful in treatment of tonsillitis in a better way

Home remedies for tonsillitis          

1.      Use warm water, mix with salt and gargle with it

2.      Take rest for most of time

3.      Speak less as it increase throat fatigue and increase the risk of infection in case if you have tonsillitis

4.      Keep your throat moist with water spray

5.      We can treat it with the help of garlic paste

6.      Take Two garlic cloves and ground them well

7.      Then add one spoon of water in the paste and mix them

8.      Now take a small piece of cotton and keep wet with that paste

9.      Open your mouth and place it on infection site

10.  Remain that piece for about 30 minutes

11.  Take deep breath having that paste in mouth

12.  Note: Do all this in the presence of sunlight in morning

13.  You will recover soon after three to five trials



What diet should eat with tonsillitis?  

We can use those food items during tonsillitis that are soft in nature and are easy to swallow.

·         Cooked cereals

·         Cooked vegetables having low spices

·         Fruits and vegetables. Don’t use citric fruits

·         Mashed potatoes

·         Eggs

·         Pasta

·         Macaroni

·         Milk

Some diets should not consume during tonsil infection   

·         Avoid acidic foods like heavy spices and citric fruits and vegetables

·         Avoid alcohol and caffeine consumption

·         Avoid foods that are difficult to swallow like crackers and chips
