Causes and remedies for epistaxis (nosebleed)
Epistaxis is a condition in which
nose start bleed either from one nostril or from both nostrils. It is more
common among children. There are many reasons that are responsible for
nosebleed.
Causes
of epistaxis

It happens that someone wants to pick hair in
the nose and suddenly it hits the blood vessels and vessels will rupture. As a
result blood start to flow from nostrils.

Commonly
upper respiratory infections, coughing and sneezing apply pressure over sensitive
vessels and nosebleed occurs
·
High
blood pressure causes vessels to rupture in brain and nose, the blood will flow
from brain and nose via nostrils
·
Nowadays
a common cause of nosebleed is lower level of humidity in air. Nose contains mucous
and it becomes dry and crusty in nose due to dry air. When it touches the
tissues minor injuries will occur and nosebleed happens. This is most common in
children in night during sleeping

Hypertension
and anxious condition in a person will also cause nosebleed.

Nosebleed
is also a sign of Leukemia
Home remedies for epistaxis
·
First
if epistaxis occurs due to dry air we should keep our nose moisturized with
water spray and ensure high water consumption
·
If
this is due to condition of hypertension then we should control over pressure
over nerves and vessels. For this purpose consume foods having cold effect,
such as carrots, radish, oranges, watermelon, melon, mint and milk etc.
·
Take
black gram husk and dip it in rice water overnight. In morning filter this
water and drink it. Nosebleed will stop soon.
·
Lay
over bed in a state that nose is upright straight
·
Apply
water over head this will lower the pressure over vessels and nose stop
bleeding
·
Avoid
nose picking, blowing or other such actions that will cause nosebleed
