Breakfast is usually called the most important meal of the day and for good reasons. When you wake up from your over night sleep, you may not have eaten for up to 10 hours. Breakfast fulfill the store of energy and nutrients in your body. The body’s energy source is glucose. Glucose is breakdown and absorbed from the carbohydrates you eat. Our body glucose, converts into glycogen and  most of it in your liver with smaller amount of your muscles. In the morning you have gone without food for as long as 12 hours. Your glycogen stores are low, once all of the energy from your glycogen stores is used up, your body start to breakdown fatty acids to produce the energy it need. But without carbohydrates, fatty acids are only partially acids which can reduce your energy level.

Eating breakfast boost your energy level and restores your glycogen level ready to keep your metabolism up for the days. Skipping   breakfast may seem like a good way to reduce overall energy intake but research shows that even with the higher intake of energy breakfast eaters tend to be more physically active within the morning than those who don’t eat until later in the day.

 Breakfast foods are rich in key nutrients such as foliates calcium, iron, B   vitamins   and   fiber. Breakfast provide a lots of your day’s total nutrients intake. People who skip their morning meal are more likely to have clogged arteries.

What happens if you avoid breakfast?

Skipping breakfast is linked to other harm full habits which can lead to hypertension, obesity high blood pressure and high cholesterol which in turn increase the risk of heart attack. There are many several reasons why we should not skip the breakfast

Breakfast provide many benefits to our health and well being. Nutritionist advise breakfast  should be eaten within 2 hours of waking . A healthy breakfast should provide calories in the range of 20-25% of your Guideline Daily Allowance (GDA). Breakfast is very important to maintain the body energy. The body’s energy source is glucose ,essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients . Breakfast  boosts brain power help you control your weight. In short a healthy breakfast may reduce the risk of illness.

What should include in breakfast?

 It is important to make the most of your breakfast meal by adding nutritious food like whole grain breads cereals soy products, nuts, seed, low fat dairy or fortified soy product, these will simply take up the space of more nutritious foods. People who skip breakfast also generally find it difficult to achieve their daily nutrients requirement so best to start packing in those nutrients early. A healthy breakfast does not need to be extravagant take a long time to prepare. Try a simpler breakfast-something simple like hard -boiled eggs, a piece of  100 whole grain toast along with a cup of 100 percent fruits juice. There’s nothing wrong with a bowl of cold whole grain cereals with berries and low-fats milk. Ideally, breakfast should supply one quarter to one third of the day’s protein,         fiber rich complex carbohydrates and fats.

How to courage children to take breakfast?

Parents should provide a good example by eating breakfast themselves. Children are more likely to eat breakfast if someone eats with them, if that is not possible, at least try to sit with children while they eat. Nearly fifty years of research shows that breakfast benefits children, teen, and adults in many ways. Eating breakfast improves nutrition and boosts brain power. Eating breakfast has been significantly associated with better concentration and test scores also as improved weight that’s true for adults and youngsters. Children that eat breakfast make fewer trips to the school nurse have fewer absences and have fewer absences and have less discipline problems. Children should never attend school hungry. Hunger has  been linked to irritability and fatigue. It is hard to find out and interact in a social environment when irritated and tired.
